Also known as the Anti-Magnate, the Magnate of Interjection is an individual whose abilities act almost exclusively to disable or negate the powers of others. While these abilities specifically allow the Magnate and his supplicants to keep the other servants of the Void Lords in check, they remain effective against other creatures as well.
The Magnate of Interjection is nearly indestructible, and you gain a sliver of this power beginning at 1st level. Your hit point maximum increases by 2, and it increases by 2 again whenever you gain a level in this class.
While their powers are very effective against creatures that rely upon spellcasting, the unique power accessible to Supplicants of Interjection can do little to opponents who rely on more mundane forms of combat. As a result, these supplicants train to survive against these threats as well. At 1st level, you gain proficiency in light armor, medium armor, and shields. You also gain proficiency with simple and martial weapons.
At 6th level, you gain the ability to manipulate magic against its intended purpose. When you cast Dispel Magic or Counterspell on an effect targeting a single creature, you may spend a number of sorcery points equal to the spells level. When you do so, instead of ending or preventing the effect of the spell, you may choose a new target for it.
The new target must be a valid target for the spell, and the duration of the effect is based upon the original time of casting rather the when the effect was moved to a new target. For example, you cannot Spelltwist a casting of gentle repose to target a living creature, and if you Spelltwist an effect that has been on a creature for half its total duration, it will only apply to the new target for its remaining half.
Alternatively, if the effect has multiple possible effects, you may change the effect in place on the original target. For instance, you may Spelltwist a Suggestion spell to change the command given to a creature, or to change which benefit of Greater Restoration a creature receives.
Beginning at 14th level, you can suppress the abilities of your foes. As an action, you target a creature and select one of the following:
The creature must make a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature loses access to the chosen feature or ability for 1 minute or until you lose your concentration (as if you were concentrating on a spell). You may use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and regain all expended uses at the end of a long rest.
At 18th level, your ability to control magic greatly improves. You may now use your Spelltwist feature against area of effect spells, or spells that target multiple creatures. When using this ability on a spell that affects an area, you may choose a new area for the spell to affect.
When you attempt to Spelltwist an effect targeting multiple creatures, you must make a separate Charisma check for each target you wish to change, with the DC equaling 10 + the spell's level.
